4 Secrets to Writing Wedding Vows (Examples Included)

Talk to your officiant

Ask him or her for some recommendations. Think about how many weddings your officiant has been too they definitely knows a thing or two when it comes down to writing the perfect wedding vows. Also it’s a good idea to ask about any religious traditions you should do as well.

Come up with a structure

Just start writing and this will come to you. Looking at a blank page can seem overwhelming. It starts with one word then two then next thing you have a paragraph then a page. Once you have that is when you can now narrow it down to exactly want you want since you’ve cut out fat.

Think About Your Relationship

This should be the first thing you think about. Write your love story down and if you need help with writing a story you need a beginning, middle, and end. That middle part is where you can talk about some conflict how you guys got over it and made your relationship stronger.

Record Yourself

It’s common to mumble or speak softly when reading, so practice your vows to make sure your family and friends will hear you. These are words that are meant to be heard by the assembled crowd, so check how they sound when spoken. Read your vows out loud to make sure they flow easily, and watch out for tongue twisters and run-on sentence both easy mistakes to make when you write marriage vows.
